The Journey Home…

London, UK     Tuesday 22 March, 2011     8pm GMT

Been travelling again, enjoyed it, enjoyed being on the road, exploring new things, learning more about myself and about the industry I mainly work in.

Despite this and not really wanting the journey to finish, one always gets the feeling on the last day of just wanting to be home. It is like – either let my time away continue for a while longer but if I do have to be back home then I want to be back home right now… do not want to endure the long journey back. The only thing keeping one going is the thought of being with people one loves, having missed them for so many days.

I’m assuming everyone wants to be at home right away rather than enduring the journey. Why is that?

On the one hand there is the melancholy of the exciting trip being over, on the other the excitement of going home to the familiar. Of course the familiar also brings with it other things that one had forgotten whilst away… business issues… legal battles… general life things. However I do believe that all of these make life interesting. Without these life would be a breeze but also boring. How would one keep their mind working otherwise?

Amitabh Bachchan wrote in one of his tweets yesterday,

“Life has so many colors ! each changing rapidly in different hues and for different reasons”.

I believe the different colours are the ones that keep us alive, keep us living, keep us strong. Exercising our brain can only help.

Of course we all have worries and concerns that we could do without. However things always do work out for the best in the end. The journey may be painful but the result is worth it. We should also count our blessings. It may not seem as though we have any but seek and you shall find. That silver lining may be small but it will get bigger over time.

Paraphrasing the Dalai Lama,

“Why worry? If there is a problem that can be fixed then there is no need to worry ; and if there is a problem to which there is no solution, why waste energy worrying about it?”

So as I now ride the train on the final leg of the journey home I have become quite philosophical with my thoughts and have just written and published this whole article via my iPhone.

Until next time, I remain…

Love, as always.
